In June 2009 Teufel announced two new model ranges of speakers for both PC’s and Mac’s: the Concept C and the Concept E series. A total of six speaker-sets came along with a new „Decoderstation 5“. The new series is not only stylish but also offers great value for money. With the new Concept C and Concept E series you are able to choose the size and the style you like, so that your new speakers fit best for your need, taste or preference. In this article we have reviewed the top model Teufel Concept E 400 5.1 sound system, to find out, what you can expect from that high-end speakers.

First of all I want to write about the design. The Concept E 400 is black coloured with a silver Teufel logo and two stripes in the front of the subwoofer. The reflective paint of the satellites and the subwoofer front gives the speakers a first-class look. At each corner of the product you can see the perfect, detail-oriented work, so you can’t only hear the top quality of this premium product, but also see it.

The Subwoofer has an included amplifier for itself and for the satellite-speakers. In the top of the front Teufel has placed two regulators; one for bass and one for the volume settings. Between both of them you’ll find a Standby button.
The shipment includes five silver-coloured foots and 30 rubber foots for the satellites. So if you don’t want to mount the speakers to the wall, you’re able to place them wherever you want.

Again we come to the most important point for speaker systems, the sound quality. The huge subwoofer with a power output of 375 watt lets your heart beat faster. The satellites are receiving their signal from the 500 watts amplifier integrated in the subwoofer, so you can enjoy best audio quality in all kind of volumes.
In our product test we were able to confirm Teufel’s statement, saying “This size is usually found in full-blown home cinema systems in the 1,000 euro price class!”
