Concept C 200 USB is the name of another stereo system out of the new Teufel multimedia speaker series. In the past we’ve already reviewed about the Concept C 100, which is the cheapest model out of the new series. The Concept C 200 USB is one level above the C 100 with a few useful advantages. The CE 20 Satellite Speakers have a 3” mid woofer plus a ¾ tweeter, compared to a 3” full range satellite of the CE 10 Satellite Speakers that the C 100 has. In addition the 8” subwoofer has a power output of 135 watt, compared to 80 watt of the smaller system. And last but not least the C 200 USB has an integrated soundcard, which allows you to ignore the bad onboard sound chips, the most PCs and notebooks have. The result is an excellent audio quality with every computer.

The design of the Teufel Concept C 200 is very chic; it is not too extravagant and not too simple. The loudspeakers and the subwoofer are completely black and do have silver strips and the Teufel logo in the front. The subwoofer has a weight about 29 pounds and looks very solid and robust. The satellite speakers have a weight of about one pound each. The quality of material and work is brilliant.

For the installation you’re able to buy an extra wall mounting system or to use the feet, which are included to the shipment. The wiring is very easy, you only have to strip the insulation of some speaker-cables not bigger than 2.5 mm² and put it into the satellites.
Audio sources like MP3-Player, HI-FI systems and DVD-Players can be connected with a cinch cable, or an USB cable. The volume can be adjusted with the integrated cable-remote-control. If you use Windows XP or newer, the system will install its USB soundcard by itself. An automatic stand-by-mode is able to save power when the system isn’t in use for some time.

Even though the speakers look tiny, the sound quality is absolutely impressive. The little satellites work perfectly together with the bigger subwoofer. While the satellites are playing the most tone, the subwoofer gets only active for the bass. The only disadvantages are the limits of stereo sound. A 5.1 sound system would in addition make a great surround sound, but costs a little more, like the Concept E 400.

The Teufel Concept C 200 USB is a perfect sound system for the use at any computer because of the excellent sound quality and the fair price!
